A Splendid African Safari Adrift A Hot Air Balloon With Remarkable Scenes Of The Plains Teeming With Wild Animals.
An African safari is not finished without going on a ride on a hot air balloon.
In 1976, Alan Root and his wife Joan- wildlife film producers, utilized a hot air balloon to shoot picture clips of wild animals. It was quicker, to use the balloon to access areas where an auto was unable to access, to film sensational aerials of wild animals.

Afloat, we have a clear eagle's eye sight of the expanse of the Masai Mara and the Serengeti sanctuaries extending as far as the eye can see. It looks infinite.
We take 90 degrees angle and beneath we notice the heads of giraffes over the canopies of acacia trees as they browse the foliage, scarcely acknowledging us moving in the air above.
After one hour or so afloat, the journey ends and a bouncy landing brings us back to the ground. At this point we crawl out of the carrier to a champagne breakfast. The charm is that this breakfast happens in the wild, where ever you land, and it's made as you see with the burners that minutes before kept you suspended in the air. What a way to commence our morning safari!
"Over time, there has been improvements in hot air balloon devices. The furnaces are far more efficient and quieter than the initial balloon safaris" explains the captain.
"What surprises many first-time balloonists is the absolute quiet, the serenity as you sail above the plains, the forest and the rivers of the Masai Mara. The noises underneath drift clearly upwards: a lion's bellow, elephants crashing through the shrubs, baboons perched on the tops of the trees. If you're lucky you will climb high above for the scene of a life-time. " the captain offers.
After the end year rains, the vegetation is dense green as we drive back to our camp viewing game en-route. It is such a contrast as these are the same grasslands which, in November, were golden, parched and hash.
Abruptly we encounter a mother cheetah marking her territory, spraying the area with urine. Finished, she scans our troupe and then makes a soft chirping sound as she proceeds on her way through the grass. Most probably she is searching for her litter.
The plains are teeming with elephants, buffaloes, topi, wildebeests and other antelopes and the sight is just excellent.
