Make a solution of baking soda, household ammonia or vinegar and water. Fill up the stand with this solution and permit to stand for a while. After 15 minutes check to see has the dirt been removed, if it has simply rinse out. If not, let it stand for some time more but limit the time to 45 minutes. After this period, your ceramic umbrella stand must be as nice as new.
